Samvidhan, the Constitution made readable

Samvidhan is an independent civic project, not a government website. It presents the current text of the Constitution of India as readable, searchable pages: all 504 articles, 26 parts, 12 schedules, a timeline of all 106 amendments, and a tracker of amendment bills before Parliament.

Where the text comes from

The Constitution text is taken from the official Legislative Department edition, as on 1 May 2026. Statutes are public domain under Indian law, so the text is reproduced in full and never altered. Plain words summaries are original editorial content, labeled as summaries on every article page. Seesources and licensing for the full list.

How it stays honest about age

There is no live feed of amendments or bills, so every fact carries the date it was verified. The footer records the verification dates for the text, the amendment list, and the bill tracker, and each bill row shows its own last verified date. A monthly update ritual refreshes them; theupcoming changes page explains the pending bills in plain words.

How it runs

The site is fully static. Search runs in your browser, hosting is free, and nothing about your visit is tracked or sold. It works without JavaScript for reading: every article is complete in the HTML itself.
